Vitamin C is one of the workhorses of skincare. It does everything, from boosting collagen production to reducing hyperpigmentation and even enhancing sun protection. If you’re not using it, you’re missing out big time.
But vitamin C serums can be pretty pricey.
DIY Vitamin C Serum
What you’ll need:
1 teaspoon Vitamin C powder
1 teaspoon distilled water
2 teaspoons vegetable glycerine
5-6 drops Rose essential oil (optional)
Dark glass bottle with dropper
Add 1 teaspoon of Vitamin C powder to a small bowl and add 1 teaspoon of distilled water. Stir until the powder is completely dissolved. It should be clear, not cloudy.
Add 2 teaspoons vegetable glycerin, stir, then add 5-6 drops Rose essential oil and stir again.
Transfer to dark glass bottle, preferably with a dropper. All antioxidants, including vitamin C, will deteriorate in the presence of light and air.
Apply once a day, ideally in the morning to utilize some of the sun-protecting properties. If you experience some mild dryness or flaking use a little extra moisturizer. This serum is safe to combine with all your other skin care products.
